Bankacı works out seven payment plans for a personal loan. The question a banker is actually asked is rarely “what is the instalment” — it is “which plan should this customer be on”. Below, one loan is priced with all seven; the table shows the shape each plan gives the instalment.

The lowest total is Equal-principal plan: 396,250 TL. The lightest start is Grace-period plan, whose first instalment is 11,700 TL. They are not the same plan — one keeps the total down, the other keeps the early months easy.

Part of the interest is paid on the day the loan is drawn, and the instalments that follow are lower.
Assumed in the example: 20,000 TL of interest paid up front.
Principal is repaid in equal parts, so the instalment starts high and falls. This is usually the one with the least interest.
A large payment lands on a date you choose — for a customer expecting a bonus, a commission or a sale.
Assumed in the example: An extra 50,000 TL paid with instalment 12.
The first months pay interest only and the principal waits. The lightest start, the heaviest total.
Assumed in the example: No principal repaid in the first 6 instalments.
The instalment climbs in steps — for a customer whose income will.
Assumed in the example: Up 5% every 6 months from instalment 7.
The instalment falls in steps — for a customer whose income will, or who wants the weight early.
Assumed in the example: Down 5% every 6 months from instalment 7.
