Cheque and note discounting
Discounting turns a cheque or note not yet due into cash today. Bankacı gives the net amount the customer receives, with the discount interest and BSMV taken off.

Present value
The face value is discounted to today from the days to maturity and the discount rate; BSMV comes off on top.
One instrument per calculation
Bankacı takes one cheque or one note per calculation. Instruments with different maturities are each worked out separately, on their own remaining days.
How the discount is worked out
Discount = face value × annual rate × days / 360, plus a day if the bank counts the discount day; BSMV 5% of it; net = face value − discount − BSMV.
The commission is its own line
Beyond the discount interest, the bank's commission and charges come straight off the net amount. They are not in Bankacı's calculation; what the customer is left with is the net amount Bankacı gives less these lines.
The longer the maturity, the deeper the discount
At the same face value, the further away the maturity the lower the present value. Where a customer brings several instruments, the long-dated ones return less.
Frequently asked
From which day does the discount run?
From the transaction date to the instrument's maturity.
How is the payout worked out?

Can I calculate several cheques at once?
No. Each calculation takes one instrument; you work out each cheque separately at its own maturity.
